On the Project
A note

A century-old apartment, reset within its original envelope. Moldings, parquet, and proportion held in place — the interior threaded with a quieter, more deliberate present.

The plan was kept; the air around it was not. Working surfaces were softened in cream and walnut, the hall reclaimed as a room, and the bedroom drawn inward in burgundy and dark wood.

IThe Hall

A room,
not a passage.

Dark wood millwork, a built-in bench, a tall mirror. The hall treated with the same care as the rooms it opens onto — its own surfaces, its own gravity.

IIThe Living Volume

Kitchen, dining,
in one volume.

A single room held together — cream and walnut soften the working edges; bentwood chairs and works on paper anchor the dining side.

IIIThe Bedroom

The room
drawn inward.

Burgundy walls, dark walnut underfoot, vintage Persian rug. A room that contracts around the bed — deliberately reduced in light, softened in surface.

IVThe Bathroom

Dusty rose against
brushed brass.

A glossy surface palette held to grounded materials. Brass fittings, Dusty Rose tile, walnut warmth — three considered registers.

VThe Second Room

Workspace by day,
guest room by night.

The second bedroom held in two registers — productive and hospitable at once. Reeded glass, brass, walnut.
